God is good, all the time; all the time, God is good!

STUDY: Lectio-Prayer

Nov. 29; Dec. 6, 13, 20; Jan. 10, 17, Upper Room B – Deacon Larry Brockman facilitates a course in Lectio-Prayer, a Scripture lesson in which you READ the Word, REFLECT on the Word, then RESPOND to the Word. The course is Thursdays at 7:15 p.m. in Upper Room B, going Nov. 29; Dec. 6, 13, 20 and Jan. 10, 17.

"Lectio" is a Latin term meaning "reading." Many of the Church Fathers, including Sts. Ambrose, Augustine and Jerome practiced the tradition of READING Sacred Scripture for prayer and REFLECTION. From this study on prayer, we can learn the depth of God's love for us and RESPOND.

The course uses the book The Study Guide for Prayer: Finding Intimacy with God to unlock the full Lectio experience. This study will help you dive into the Advent and Christmas seasons. The book will be available soon in the Gift and Book Store (cost TBA). Click here to reserve your copy. Formed.org also has videos that will complement the course. Click here for these videos.
